Full Tilt Poker Adds Live Dealer Games

If you didn't already see, Full Tilt Poker has recently expanded its casino game offering to now include live dealer games.  The live dealer casino features some Full Tilt branded games, including three different blackjack tables and a roulette table.  The live casino is exclusive to Full Tilt customers and powered by Evolution Network from Riga, Latvia.  Everything from the tables, cards, and dealer uniforms is Full Tilt branded.

Players can not only play these live casino games against attractive Latvian dealers, but can also join in on the fun in other games offered by Evolution Network including baccarat and casino Hold'em.  If you are a high roller, you can wear your virtual tuxedo in the live casino's VIP Suite.

While this new addition isn't exactly poker-related, it does go hand in hand with Full Tilt's recent decision to change domain names to FullTilt.com.  It was expected once the word "Poker" was dropped from the domain that we would see some changes.

The live casino is not replacing the existing casino.  So, if you have been enjoying single-player and multi-player blackjack and roulette, you can continue to do so instead of venturing to the live casino.  The site also continues to host a variety of slot games.

Amaya promised us changes without affecting poker and so far has delivered.  The recent FTOPS and MiniFTOPS was a success and it appears the site just plans to add to what they already have instead of take something away to push away the site's current customer base.

This author feels that casino games within a poker client could be both a good thing and bad thing.  Many players can get into a trap by trying to chase losses on the poker felts in the casino.  The more attractive the casino, the more likely this is to occur.  While sometimes a player can recoup their entire losses, one must remember that casino games are house games with no long-term advantage to players.

The jury is still out about the positives for poker players having a casino at Full Tilt.  On other sites, a solid casino helps bring players in who are used to playing recreationally and may actually be chasing casino losses on the poker tables where their negative edge might be greater than the house edge in casino games.  I don't see this happening yet at Full Tilt since even though the site did change its domain name, it still has been branded for about a decade as a destination for poker players and not casino games.

This doesn't mean the tides won't change, but it will take some time and effort by Full Tilt to attract the recreational player who thinks about casino games first and poker as an afterthought.  Click here to check it out!
